Try this tonight: the Tension-Relax breath

Here’s a quick practice – The Tension-Relax – to try before bed or whenever anxiety hits:

  1. Inhale deeply through your nose
  2. Gently tense your muscles (shoulders, fists, belly)
  3. Hold your breath for a few seconds
  4. Exhale slowly through your mouth and release all the tension
  5. Repeat 3–5 times

This helps your nervous system switch from alert to calm and signals to your body that it’s safe to relax.
