Context & Objective
In 2023, several United Nations organisations partnered with BeSophro to deliver a wellbeing initiative supporting teams in managing stress and maintaining performance in high-demand environments.
The goal was to equip professionals with simple, practical tools to build resilience and emotional regulation, without adding complexity or cognitive overload to already busy schedules.
The Challenge
For HR and People teams, the challenge was not awareness, but implementation.
How do you support mental wellbeing in a way that is:
- Immediately applicable
- Engaging across cultures
- Sustainable beyond the programme
In fast-paced environments, the ability to pause, regulate, and reconnect with oneself is often the first thing to be lost, yet it is the foundation of resilience and effective decision-making.
The BeSophro Approach
The programme was designed and delivered by Natalia Bulloch-Stepanova, Sophrologist at BeSophro, specialising in corporate wellbeing and the development of resilience and emotional intelligence in the workplace.
The programme was centred on short, guided practices that can be integrated easily into the workday.
Each session combined breathing, gentle movement and visualisation with practical insights from neuroscience and coaching, creating an experience that is both accessible and immediately effective.
The focus was not on theory, but on practice and autonomy.
Programme Overview
The Thrive Within programme included an introductory workshop followed by six weekly sessions of 30 minutes.
It was delivered online to 70 professionals across five international organisations, with a strong emphasis on live participation and real-time application.
Key Outcomes
Participants reported tangible improvements in how they:
- Manage stress and pressure
- Maintain energy and focus
- Approach challenges with greater clarity
- Make more aligned decisions
Beyond immediate benefits, the programme supported the development of core capabilities including self-awareness, emotional resilience and conscious leadership.
