For Sasha, an accomplished woman in her 50s, menopause brought symptoms she had never experienced before and set her on a journey to discover what truly worked for her.
Working full-time, travelling regularly, and adjusting to a new phase of life with adult children, she found herself dealing with various physical symptoms that needed attention – but what challenged her just as much was a subtle erosion of self-confidence.
“Perimenopause and menopause still feel like topics our society doesn’t quite know how to handle,” she says. “Thankfully, there’s now a lot of interest and more information available, but it can be hard to find what works for you.”
Despite trying a mix of traditional approaches, natural remedies, and wellness practices like yoga and meditation, Sasha was still searching for something that could bring a deeper sense of calm and connection.

A gentle introduction
She first heard about Sophrology through an event where Sophrologist Dominique Antiglio was speaking, and something about Dominique’s approach resonated.
“I like what she does,” Sasha says simply. “It was the sense of kindness and empowerment that drew me in.”
What stood out most for Sasha was Dominique’s voice and presence. “I always finish one of Dominique’s recordings feeling better than when I started,” she explains. “Just listening to Dominique’s voice and delivery is a meditation in itself.”
Unlock Your Menopause Power
Is your menopause overwhelming you?
Unlock Your Menopause Power is a five-week journey designed by women, for women — to support your body and mind through the changes of perimenopause and menopause.
Starting small, and on her own terms
With her busy schedule, Sasha found it difficult to stay consistent, but even occasional practice proved valuable. “The content is brilliant, and often I just listened to it rather than watching the video,” she says.
She gravitated toward Sessions 4 and 5 in the Unlock Your Menopause Power programme, appreciating the structure and the opportunity to check in with herself. Over time, she noticed that with repetition, “the practice became easier, and I was less distracted by the things I wanted to do or the guilt of not being present for my family.”
Some days were easier than others. But each time she paused, took a breath, and followed a guided session, something subtle yet meaningful shifted.
“The practice encourages you to be your best self, without judgment,” she says of the menopause programme. “I learn something different each time I practise.”
Small shifts, big impact
While she initially focused on physical symptoms, Sasha soon realised how incredibly powerful it is for women to give themselves time and truly listen in order to address the many challenges of perimenopause. Even occasional practice provided her with a sense of grounding she hadn’t felt in a long time.
“Start by giving yourself time in your day,” she advises. “What’s interesting is learning what works for you and gradually linking different approaches to restore balance, step by step.”
“Even occasional practice helped me feel more grounded and clear”
A practice worth keeping
Sasha continues to explore Sophrology at her own pace, drawn by its gentle power and the way it fits into her life without pressure.
“The work of Dominique and the BeSophro Team is both empowering and kind,” she says. “It has really made a difference to my life.”
